Miriam is talking so much lately that it is starting to freak me out a little. SHE'S STILL NOT EVEN TWO and I'm getting 7-8 word sentences from her. We spent a part of our week in Gulfport visiting David, Libba and Momma. Couple of funny things:
**Momma peeled a satsuma and gave Miriam some (after they argued whether or not it was an Orange...Mom would call it a satsuma and Miriam would say, "No. It's a Orjunch.") She loved it and started walking around Mom's office chanting, "Don't eat the rind." She's eaten lemon wedges since this summer and will eat them to the rind, if I don't stop her. I guess, "Don't eat the Rind" stuck in her head.
**Twice this week she stopped what she was doing and said, "This.Is.Serious."...just like Ming-Ming from Wonder Pets. Hysterical to me.
**We are working on manner words...she's said "Please" and "Thank you" for over a year now. But, I'm trying to make her understand that those are 'manners' words and you use them to be polite. She gets it when she really wants something. Like the other night at David's. She had not eaten much that day and I made her some macaroni and cheese. We sat on the floor and I guess I was chatting it up with Mom or someone and slowing down on feeding her. She said, "I would like more noodles, please." Every word clear as a bell. Not "I WANT", but "I would like". Oh..and she can totally feed herself, but I was a bit nervous with David's fancy house that she might spill. So I fed her.
**As we left this morning, she waved at Mom and Libba and said, "Bye-Bye Mimi, Bye-Bye Yibba. I'm going to see my daddy now." Again, all words clear (except for Yibba).
**When we got home, she asked Paul, "Daddy, play tea set with me, please." Later she dumped out her blocks and as they loudly hit the floor she said, "Amazing."
I can't imagine what she will be saying this time next year...
