Round and Round

So, I finally bugged Paul into going to the gym with me this morning. Big day for me, not so much for him. We brought Miriam into the nursery and her favorite people were there: Miss Jen and Miss Margaret. She says there names perfectly and hugs and kisses all over them now.

I was cool and tried to not to make a big deal that we have had this family gym membership since March and Paul was just now getting his card. It's cool. I'm proud he is making an effort and has the energy to even come with me after he has worked so hard for us all week.

We ran an errand or two after the gym and then went to the mall because I had a Gymboree coupon that could only be used this weekend...it HAD to be used, right?

With no stroller (forgot BOTH of them in my car) Miriam was either free to roam (or throw a fit. Paul had to deal with that b/c he wouldn't take her up the escalator) or we had to carry her. We took a break in the food court, past the bordering on 3rd world kiosks where you are totally harrassed in the Galleria. It's ridiculous, by the way. There were tons of bday parties going on. I had no idea that people had bday parties at the mall, but there were 4 that I counted. They looked like fun, too.

Paul took Miriam on the carousel. She loves it at the zoo and lost her mind on Disney World's carousel. I stood off to the side and waited for them to finish. The first go around, she didn't see me, but I could see and hear her saying, "Dis is SOOOO cewl." Paul was laughing. The second go around she saw me and waved and blew her princess kisses. The third she yelled, "All Aboard"...like a train. Did the same thing the fourth time around. By the Fifth, she was waiting for me and YELLED, "Surprise" with the thickest southern accent you can imagine. She proceeded with "Surprise" for the remainder of her turns around.

It was something else. She was having the time of her life and I couldn't have been happier with my 'surprise' that I knew was coming.

  1. I am laughing so hard at the mental picture of little miriam on that merry-go-round saying all aboard like she's on a train! That is sooo cute!!
