Princess Songs

Several months ago, before my "Do we really need it?" spending freeze, I bought a 3-disc CD Set of Disney Princess songs. Besides my Jesus CD and Lionel Ritchie, it's the only thing we really listen to in the car. We'll about five months ago, I taught her the princesses by sight. She could tell you who Cinderella ("Sueella") was before she could tell you her colors. Thanks to her Hello Kitty Color book and some advice from her great-Aunt Linda, she now knows all her colors very well. No slip ups!

Anyway, Miriam really likes her Princess songs. So much so that there is slight car drama if I don't get to the right song quick enough. She will say, "No Belle now, Mommy ("There Must Be Something There That Wasn't There Before"), need Mulan now. ("Reflection")Mulan Song puhleeze" She knows the songs by the princess that sings them, not the song title. Too precious.

I've checked out several of the princess movies from the library and FF to the scenes where the songs are sung. She is FASCINATED to see the song come to life. She sings them so sweetly. She will do hand motions to exagerate the end of songs...have no idea where that came from :) She'll try to reach high for the notes. In songs where the prince and the princess both sing, like "Once upon a Dream" or any song from Aladdin. She will say "Mommy Singing" when the girl sings and "Daddy Singing" when the boy sings. I LOVE that she thinks I'm a princess and Paul is Prince Charming.

She really DOES think Paul is Prince Charming. When you point to a picture of Cinderella and Prince Charming together and ask her "who is this?" She will say 'Sueella' for Cinderella and "My Daddy" for Prince Charming. It melts Paul, I'm pretty sure.

Can't wait for her to see a princess or two at Disney. I might just stay in China at World Showcase waiting for a Mulan Sighting. A fuse might blow she will get so excited.
