Zipline

So Paul and I zip-lined in Destin. It was SO much fun. They just opened this thing at the Village...I remembered them building it when we were there in May and July. It was totally Paul's idea. I was VERY surprised considering his fear of heights. He talked the guy into letting us both go for the price of one. I was wearing a dress that night and asked if I could take my turn the next night and dress more appropriately for dangling 4 stories above the Village. They were totally cool with that. So off Paul went on Day One. They were not busy at all and to try to promote the zip line, they allowed Paul to go back and forth a few times. He did so good.
I tried it on Night Two...it was incredible. I got a lot more scared than I expected. It was a long walk up and I could see Paul and Miriam below...got a little panicky. The height didn't scare me, but the possibility of a malfunction did. There wasn't enough instruction for me, I guess. I needed a video tutorial to feel completely comfortable I think. They basically just told me to step off the plank? I walked out on the plank and almost backed out. The little guy had to walk out there with me and kind of push me off. But, once I was off, I was fine!!! It was Beautiful with all the lights and I could hear Paul cheering below. I reached the other side and the guy on that side told me to just run off the plank to get to the other side. SUCH a good idea. No time for nerves and I went so much faster. This was me right as I 'landed' for the second time. Huge smile!
I walked back down to Paul and Miriam, who were eating at a pizza place right on the water in the village. Several of the other diners stopped me before I got to my table saying, "She did NOT like you doing that..." Miriam apparently was very scared for me. It was a sweet moment when I reached her and she realized I was safely on the ground!
