My little Sand Angel

Miriam loves sand.

She loves it like she loves Mia Morgan or Max & Ruby or Marshmallows.

We've been to Florida two other times this summer, but we have never taken her to the beach. Honestly, I didn't want to fool with it. I was concerned that she wouldn't like it and I didn't want to have to run after her all over a crowded beach. This trip was so much better because of our condo location and all the gear that Paul brought and because she listens a bit better to "stop" and "wait" and "do you want to go to the corner?"

So we took her and SHE LOVED IT. She would lay in the sand on her belly like it was a bed. Put her head down like the sand was a pillow. She would lay on her back and do snow angels, back and forth, back and forth. She would pick it up and let it fall through her fingers. She pretend to swim in it. She loves sand.

We barely let her go in the gulf because there were giant jelly fish everywhere. They were so big and there were so many that it was hard for me to relax with all these not so smart people jumping into the water. There was all kind of flags and advisories up, but that didn't stop dummies from the North jumping in there. ugh. But, Miriam didn't need the Gulf. Paul made her a pool from a boat and he and I trekked back and forth to the water with pails to keep it filled up for her. It was good exercise, my new mantra.

It was really special to watch her play with her toys and be intentional with which bucket went where and how to get the water from the watering pot into her boat. She's such a neat little girl. She's my little sand angel.
