Santa Clause Practice

Over Thanksgiving, I had watched Paul's Aunt Linda play 'pretend Santa Clause' with Miriam's big girl cousins, Mary, Barbara and Sarah. It was cute! They got on her knee and told her what they wanted for Christmas and whether they had been naughty or nice. It gave me an idea to practice for our Santa Clause visits. Prepare Miriam a little?

So yesterday afternoon, I turned off the Christmas music and sat Miriam down. I explained that when we go visit Santa, she'll sit on his knee and he will say (in my best Santa voice), "Ho. Ho. Ho. Miriam, What would you like for Christmas?". I told her that she would then tell him what she would like for her prize (her word for presents). I gave some suggestions (in my best Miriam voice), "I would like some toys. I would like some dolls. I would like some books." Miriam was looking at me intently, ready to play.

I sat her on my knee and pretended to be Santa, I asked her want she wanted for Christmas. She said, "I want cookies. I want TV. I want Max & Yuby."

She's got her priorities straight and is DEFINETLY my child!
