Christmas Frenzy

The Hodges house is filled with the Christmas Spirit thanks to Miriam. I can't get over how into Christmas she is...It started about 3 weeks ago when I got out the the Miss PattyCake Christmas DVD. I've mentioned what an impact Miss PattyCake has had our little house. She brings us joy and reminds us to give praise to God. She's a blessing! The Christmas DVD teaches the story of Jesus's birth and relates commercial Christmas things to the bible: "The lights on the Christmas tree remind us of the stars that shined bright the night Jesus was born".

THEN Joe gave us this Christmas CD with children singing all the traditional songs. It has taken over the Princess music and Lionel Ritchie. ALL we listen to is Christmas music. She knows all the words to "Away in a Manger", "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" and her very favorite, "Frosty the Snowman."

Dad got her all the old Christmas DVD's: Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph, and Santa Clause is coming to town...the old one's with the sort of puppets...from the 70's. She loves them. We watch them repeatedly...at least in between Max & Ruby.

She's a sucker for Christmas. Last night, Paul put out our two little light up trees on the front step and you can see them from the top of the stairs. We had finished her bath and she was in the middle of all her books and I told her to come to the stairs. She ran to me and said, "Wook, Mommy!!!!" I told her those were our trees and she clapped and began to sing the "It's Christmas" Song from her Miss PattyCake DVD. She is ready, ready, ready!

We go tonight to get the real tree and I can't imagine how exciting that is going to be. Nervous for the ornaments, though...I just don't think she can help herself.
