Big Weekend with Mimi and Ricci and Dee's Funhouse

We had such a good weekend! Went to the Coast for the birthday but also to celebrate Mother's Day with Momma. I broke my finger at the gym on Thursday and needed Mom's help with Miriam almost as much as when she was first born. Miriam lost it with Momma (in a good way), she loves her so much and Momma gets excited over the smallest thing that Miriam does. They are big buds.

Momma had the "Beauty and the Beast" video at her house. We listen to the songs all the time in the car, but she has never really watched the movie. We tried once at Amy's house, but "Beck-ack" (Rebecca) was there and Miriam was way more excited about Beck-ack, than a silly cartoon. :) Anyway, Miriam had a moment after her bath at mom's that I had to capture. She just sat in David's old rocker and was amazed that the songs she knew had pictures to them. She was calm and quiet and so sweet...those moments are rare these days. The rocker is now at our house. Momma, Frankie and Matt cleaned out the garage and luckily I was there to get some overflow. Got all my old Little House on the Prairie books and Sweet Valley High...racked up big time. But, I looked like I was leaving my husband on the way home. Car was PACKED to the brim.

On Sunday we went to Ricci and Dee's after mass for a get together to celebrate Jason's graduation. Their house looks SO great. Momma, Miriam and I went to Walmart at six in the morning to buy bathing suits so we could go swimming there. MIRIAM LOVED THE WATER. Really that is an understatement. She was so giddy, squealed about 15 times and kept putting her face in the water. She was so excited that she bit my shoulder out of sheer joy and not knowing what to do with all the excitement. I can't tell you how happy I am that she is currently unafraid of the water. Next week in Destin would have rough if she didn't like the water.

Miriam had a hard time warming up to Uncle Ricci. I told him if he offered a cookie, she would love him. She literally ran into his arms when he said he would give her a cookie. Well, Ricci couldn't find a cookie...just chocolate cake. She loved it and now Uncle Ricci is her favorite relative. Especially after he introduced her to Marshy, their big dog. She couldn't stop hugging him(her?).
It was a blast and I can't wait to go home again!
