Can you predict the outcome of Blueberry Breakfast?

The past few days have been a blur, but a fun blur. Monday after the gym (still a lot of drama when I leave her in the nursery, but it's getting better) we met some friends at Panera Bread for breakfast. They were going next door to Barnes and Noble for a story hour. We've never done that before and I was a bit nervous about her behavior. Miriam doesn't understand sitting still yet. There was a little stage where the reader sat and Miriam played on that for about 15 minutes before the story hour began. She's all about a stage, may have Karaoke in her future. Wonder where that comes from? Once the reading started, Miriam didn't get why she couldn't play on the stage anymore. She ended up running around the children's section and I got a better workout chasing her than I did at the gym.

Tuesday, I was so proud of myself as a mom, but it was shortlived. Decided it would be "Blueberry Breakfast" Day. She has a cute blue plate with 3 compartments, I filled them with Blueberry yogurt, fresh blueberries and homemade Blueberry oatmeal. I was feeling good about doing something fun and healthy for her and we were singing Blueberry songs and it was just a good moment. Until I realized that there would soon be an outcome to Blueberry breakfast that would probably not be so much fun.

After Blueberry Breakfast" we met our friends Heidi and Lilli at the zoo. I really love that zoo. We have a family pass and Miriam and I probably go twice a month. She takes little classes there where they bring out animals for her to pet and squeal over. But, Tuesday was just a nice walk-around zoo day. They have a new exhibit of Kangaroos...weird animals and much smaller than I thought. For some reason, I thought they were as big as cows, but they are really about the size of a very small deer. Anyway, we walked through the butterfly room, saw people riding camels (the germs!), watched the biggest Lion just chill on a rock, and learned how to say "Alligator": Miriam version "AH-A-GAY-TOR". But, Miriam was the most excited about the sheep. She loves them so much...wigs out when we see them. We walked through the petting part. Normally they have these Pygmy goats that have a short coat and are friendly. Tuesday there were yucky sheep who had no desire to be petted. Miriam chased them around the pen and I was just waiting for one of them to back kick her. My favorite part was the hand washing!

Dad took her for the night because I had some appointments on Wednesday. He probably had to deal with the outcome of "Blueberry Breakfast". Paul and I tried to go out to eat like grown-ups. So much pressure to choose the right restaurant because our times out with out sippy cups and Cheerios are so rare. I made the wrong choice. Went to McCormick and Schmick's, which we now refer to at McCormick and Nix...terrible.

If the weather holds up today, we are going to picnic at the Botanical Gardens today. We will learn some flower names to impress Bebe!
