We've been super busy and I'm sorry we are so behind on our blog updates. We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's and so far 2009 has been really eventful and special. I'll blog soon about our holidays and Miriam's 2nd birthday.
Miriam is a bigtime TWO YEAR OLD. She's got opinions on what she will wear, watch, eat. It's a fun challenge, right now. We caught her recently stark naked in her crib. Didn't like her pajamas or her diaper apparently and took it all off. She is constantly asking, "I watch a show Miriam's"...it's like she's speaking Spanish and puts the possessive after the verb instead of before. I used to be able to watch a bit of Dr. Phil or Jon and Kate Plus 8 while I folded clothes and she played with her toys in the den...not anymore, the chanting of "Watch a show Miriam's, Watch a show Miriam's" is so grating that I end up just turning the TV off.
With all the generous birthday and Christmas gifts that Miriam received our house had pretty much turned into a toy chest. Every room filled to the brim with some form of toy. So, my sweet and selfless husband took his 'man room' in the basement and turned it into a playroom for Miriam. He cleaned it, put Princess Stickers on the wall, set up a bulletin board to show off all her art, recovered and painted a chair for me to sit in AND organized all the toys into easy to pick up areas. She LOVES it down there. Calls the staircase to the basement the "Secret Passageway". It's become a thing that they go down there every night while I finish up dinner. It's a cool room.
We are all stepping it up in the exercise front...Miriam even holds exercise classes for us. I've up'd my time and intensity level in the gym and feel fantastic. Paul has started to work out a bit at home and even ran in a race with me a few weeks back. Miriam leads her 'classes' and it's priceless. She lays with her back on the floor and does the bicycle or the scissor and instructs us with every move. She'll whip you into shape quick!
She's just cracking us up daily. Every day it's something new. Hopefully, I'll be better about blogging to remember it all.
