How fitting that the last post was about her first dance class and this post is about her first recital. Busy isn't the word for what we've (I've) been...I think 'procrastinator' or 'terrible time-manager' is better. Really do want to do better and think I'll order me a fancy new blog design to help me get a bit more excited about things.
First dance recital was simply heaven. Of course, I stressed and freaked about about getting their on time and we were there embarrassingly early. So early that they were still setting up. I HATE BEING LATE. Think it is so rude and reflection of whether or not you have it together. Not saying that I'm never late...I just hate myself when I am.
Miriam was READY, READY. We practiced her 'Final Flower Dance' at home and I really thought she would be prepared. Mimi and Bebe were with us in the audience and having them both here was wonderful in different ways. Mom helped me calm down about Miriam's performance and Paul's mom helped me calm down about Miriam's hair...sassy side bun was courtesy of Bebe and her years growing up with a beauty parlor in her house.

As the performance began, the pride began to swell. She was adorable and eager and full of life. She twirled when it was her turn and jumped over the stuffed flowers like she was born to do it. I was beyond happy with her and quickly got over that she took the wheelbarrow prop for a ride and the teacher had to get on to her in the middle of the performance. Moved on quickly from dwelling on that. They ended with a song that I'd never heard her sing (VERY unusual because she sings about 73% of her awake time). Adorable song that she managed to sing louder than most of the other girls.
She was fabulous and I made her (with Paul's help, of course).
