I joined Facebook about a month ago, an online networking site. It has consumed me. It's been a blast catching up with all kind of old friends from elementary school, high school, college, Outback days, etc. So fun to see everyone grown up and what their kids look like. Exciting to find someone through someone else's friend lists.
But, I need to stop.
I've barely cleaned house. Paul and I have both gained weight because we are eating Bertoli or Zatarins or some other processed lazy food. Miriam has watched more Dora and Max&Ruby than ever. I've ignored the blog. I'm barely calling my local friends on the phone to catch up.
I had my own Intervention this morning and I'm cutting myself back to checking it 3 times a day...considering I was easily checking it 20 before, this is a big wean.
But, you wouldn't believe what I've gotten done today: immaculate kitchen, four loads of laundry, changed all sheets in the house, dusted Den, swept and mopped den floor, dusted and vacuumed guest room, cleaned Miriam's room, got rid of about 3 months worth of junk mail, took Miriam on wagon ride, colored and painted adorable pictures with her, played chase for about 15 minutes, made four phone calls that I've put off for weeks, AND IT'S NOT EVEN 3:30.
So, I'm going to come out of this Facebook fog. Facebook is not going to get me anymore. Keep me in your prayers :)
I'm just laughing while I'm reading this. I have been able to defend against the Facebook Suck, so far, but I have my own online vices to contend with... namely Twitter.
ReplyDeleteI shouldn't even tempt you, but Good Lord that thing is fun.
Seriously, though, blogging in general is just trouble. You seem to have avoided the "comment whore" trap that I've succumbed to, though. At this point, I publish a post and then proceed to check my email 20 times for new comments. Forget the dishes and laundry, I need to know what every single person on earth thinks about my opinion of Kids in the Hall!
Needless to say, my kids and their lack of clean underwear are not impressed. ;)
